Lilette et Gilbert Valentin Art Exhibit

This is the first major retrospective exhibition of Lilette (1925-2006) and Gilbert Valentin (1928-2000). Including studio pottery, sculpture, painting and drawing, the exhibition showcases the expansive nature of the Valentins’ artistic practice and includes artworks, film and documentary photography. In 1950, The Valentins moved to Vallauris and made their home, studio and gallery in an old factory that they baptized “Les Archanges ”. Their 5 children grew up at Les Archanges, which became a creative hub for poets, artists and musicians including Jean Cocteau, Pablo Picasso and Jacques Prévert. Aurelie will introduce us to the exhibition, her parents' practice and their legacy. This event does not include lunch, but there are a number of restaurants at the port that members can contact for a reservation or chance a walk-in on the day.
Parking nearby is limited, carpooling is highly encouraged. The gallery is fully accessible with lifts and handicap toilets.
